THINGS TO CONSIDER WHEN CHOOSING A BOARD

CONSIDER THIS EPS BOARDS COMPRESSION BOARDS
What makes wakesurf boards EPS or compression? EPS stand for Expanded Polystyrene which is the core material (foam). Compression boards also have an EPS core however it is much lower in volume and has a very hard outer shell made of Thermo Plastic Polyurethane (TPU).
Pros of EPS and compression boards

PROS:

  • Very bouyant and light, offering lots of float and agility.
  • Fins are interchangeable.

PROS:

  • Very rugged and don't damage easily.
  • Starting is easier due to decreased volume.
Cons of EPS and compression boards

CONS:

  • Need more attention to care practices.
  • Can sustain damage more easily.

CONS:

  • Often don't have the same high performance as normal EPS boards due to decreased volume and rigidity.
